1.Total Introduction

The Sunflower Foundation is registered in California,USA through the local lawfirm.It is aimed at helping the underprivileged women who have to face many difficulties from family, work and society in the southwest of China.Our purpose is to support lower income women, widowed women, single mothers and disabled women in these areas.Through the Sunflower Charity Foundation, we are calling the attention of the society to the disadvantaged women in China. We need your hands to get together to do something for them.Let the sunshine illuminate every corner of the world!

2.The Birth of Our Foundation

Our chairman of the committee Hellen Song has dreamed to establish a charity fund for women for a long time.She has gone to the southwestern part of China on  business trips for several times.People's poor livng and sanitary condition there shocked her deeply,especially the underprivileged women in the mountain area.And the 5.12 earthquake made her quicken her steps to found a charity organization.So that's the birth of  the Sunflower Foundation.

Human life is very fragile when facing with the catastrphe.They need our solicitude.We are aiming at helping the underprivileged women to regain their confidence and have a happy,colorful life.

3.The Origin of the Name"Sunflower "

The word "Sunflower" can stand for Women's beauty and gentle，self-reliance and independence ,diligence and persistence.It is perfect combination with these three points.

Facing the sunlight all the time,it's the symbol of belief,determination and optimism.Yellow represents full of  hope.Women can use their own hands to open up and develop their own career definitely whatever difficulties we face.We should struggle with the obstacle with enough courage and have the confidence to gain what we want,whether on family or work.  

So it is called "Sunflower Foundation".
